About

viewsqlitedatabase.com is a free tool for opening SQLite database files in your web browser. You can drop in a .db, .sqlite or .sqlite3 file, see every table, search rows, run SQL and export what you need to CSV or JSON. There is nothing to install and no account to create.

Why we built it

SQLite files are everywhere. Phone apps, web browsers, chat apps and desktop programs all use them. But most people who find one have no easy way to look inside. Desktop tools work well, but not everyone can install software, and many online tools upload your file to a server. We wanted something that opens instantly on any device and keeps your data private.

How it keeps your file private

The viewer runs the real SQLite engine inside your browser using WebAssembly. When you open a file, your browser reads it directly from your device. The file is never uploaded to our server. You can test this yourself: load the page, turn off your internet connection, and open a file. It still works.

What you can do with it

  • Browse every table and view with row counts
  • Sort, search and page through rows
  • See columns, keys, indexes and the CREATE statement
  • Run your own SQL queries
  • Export tables or query results to CSV or JSON
  • Download an edited copy of the database

Our guides

Alongside the tool, we write plain-English guides on common SQLite jobs: opening files on Windows, Mac and Android, fixing errors like file is not a database, and exporting data to CSV or Excel. You can browse them all in SQLite Guides.

Free, with no catch

The viewer is free to use, with no sign-up and no row limits. If you have a question or spot a mistake in a guide, we would love to hear from you.
